Jannik Sinner took revenge on Carlos Alcaraz by defeating him in the Wimbledon 2025 men's singles final, five weeks after the French Open final. The top-ranked Italian won the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 on Sunday at the All England Club in London. This win gave Sinner his first Wimbledon trophy
and his fourth Grand Slam title.
Alcaraz, the two-time defending champion, started strong by taking the first set in 45 minutes. He used a serve-and-volley strategy to pressure Sinner, who looked nervous in his first Wimbledon final.
Sinner, however, maintained his cool and concentration in the second set, ruining Alcaraz's bid for back-to-back Wimbledon titles. While the two competitors wowed the spectators with strong shots and astute footwork, the level of play accelerated.
Sinner perfected his game by varying his serves and staying aggressive. In the third set, he held on to win after breaking Alcaraz's serve. The third set was the most exciting, with amazing rallies, drop shots, and even a “tweener” shot.
In the fourth set, Sinner made sure there was no late comeback from Alcaraz, unlike what happened in the French Open. He finished strong to claim the title and end Alcaraz’s winning streak at Wimbledon.
