FC Barcelona has not had a great start to the 2025-2026 season due to the fact that they have not been able to wear their newly released kits in an official match of the 2025-2026 season. Nike, Barcelona's official sponsor for 27 years, has new designs for 2025-26, which are: the classic blaugrana, Yellow (tribute kits to Kobe Bryant) and Orange (inspired by the traditional 'Total 90' kits).
La Liga, however, blocked all three kits for the first two matches against Mallorca and Levante, citing color clashes with the opponents’ uniforms. Consequently, Barcelona had to wear last season’s green third kit, much to the disappointment of fans and the frustration of Nike.
Unlike other clubs, Barcelona chose not to mix shirts and shorts from different kits to preserve the design and aesthetic of the new uniforms. For comparison, Real Madrid has used alternate shorts in similar situations to avoid clashes.
Fans can now look forward to seeing the new blaugrana home kit debut in the upcoming match against Rayo Vallecano, with the away kit expected to appear in round six against Oviedo. After weeks of waiting, Barcelona and Nike can finally showcase the new designs on the field.
