Tottenham Hotspur continued their perfect start to the Premier League season with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. This marked their second straight league win under new manager Thomas Frank, who took over from Ange Postecoglou after last season.

Brennan Johnson scored the opening goal for Spurs in the first half, with VAR confirming the strike after an initial offside call. João Palhinha added a second just before halftime, taking advantage of an error by City goalkeeper James Trafford, who struggled in his home debut. Tottenham's organized defending and effective counter attacks saw Manchester City simply left with no reply, even after the subs like Phil Foden and Rodri.

Manager Thomas Frank commended the team's performance by arguing they "have beat Manchester City deservedly" fuelled by their "strong organisation and desire." Despite criticism over the club’s summer transfer activity, including failed deals for Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze, Frank’s tactics and the players’ performances have already impressed fans.

City manager Pep Guardiola defended his choice to start Trafford, noting the importance of consistency in goal, but admitted the young keeper had a tough debut. Johnson and Palhinha, players for Spurs as well, praised Frank's philosophy and the work of the whole team.

The win solidifies Tottenham's strong early-season form and has increase optimism with supporters, who would love to see the team maintain its momentum and push for the top of the Premier League.
