A 35-year-old travel agent from Delhi was reportedly assaulted by four males in a possible outcome of a business rivalry. The incident took place at the victim's office. Pardeep Kumar, the victim, was alone, he stated, when the group of four allegedly entered and began to strike him with sticks. The Police Control Room received a distress call from somewhere around 12:54 am, notifying police of the assault.
Kumar later identified the attackers as Sonu Jhakar, his cousin Naveen and two other individuals whose names are not confirmed. Kumar also stated the four people took two of his mobile phones before fleeing the assault. Kumar indicates that this incident is connected to longstanding issues with a competing travel company.
Delhi Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and have opened an investigation. Police are working to identify the other suspects and also the nature of the business relationship that may have caused this incident. Authorities are adamant they will deliver justice and hold those responsible accountable.
