KATHMANDU: Saroj Pariyar, a 21-year-old man from Rato Danda, Sundarnagar in Rupandehi District, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his 46-year-old mother, Parbati Pariyar. According to the Area Police Office in Butwal, after the killing, Saroj told local neighbors that his mother had sustained a blunt injury to her eye.

Locals said that Saroj had a criminal history and had been repeatedly arrested and released by the police. The neighbors expressed concerns about their safety as well, stating that Saroj's behavior had occasionally been upsetting.

The Rudrapur police reached the spot of the murder, registered the FIR, and began inquiring into what had actually happened with the locals. While the authorities are investigating the cause of death, information is gained from the local community.

According to the locals, Saroj was a drug addict with a history of mental health troubles. These two combined might have contributed to the tragic occurrence, and the inquiry, however, is still ongoing.

Since his other son is supposedly employed in India, Saroj and his mother were the only residents of the residence. The scenario is further complicated by the family dynamic, since the mother's seclusion was probably exacerbated by the other son's absence.

More sense can be made of the event considering Saroj's history of substance abuse, his mental imbalance, and the adverse effects this may have had on him because of these issues and his past criminality.

Saroj was detained, pending the murder investigation. Residents have been in shock after the barbaric incident because it left them unsettled by Saroj's behavior.
