KATHMANDU: In the first match of the CAVA U-20 Women’s Volleyball Championship for Central Asia, Nepal was beaten by Sri Lanka. The match was held at Social Centre, Male, Maldives where the Sri Lankan team defeated Nepal by 3 sets to 1. In the first set, Nepal was set down 25-20 then in the second set Nepal bagged the sets 26-24 but in the last two sets Nepal got defeated in the third and fourth sets with 25-11 and 25-18 respectively.
The match showcased a competitive edge with Nepal winning one set but failing to maintain momentum in the subsequent sets. Sri Lanka's performance was strong, leading them to clinch the win.
This evening's matchup between Kyrgyzstan and Nepal is set. Four teams are competing in the tournament: Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, and the Maldives.
