KATHMANDU: Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Luo Zhaohui, paid a visit to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' today, meeting at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar. During the meeting, they engaged in discussions concerning Nepal's economic development and the upcoming Investment Summit, as outlined by Dr. Rupak Sapkota, the Prime Minister's advisor on foreign affairs.
Prime Minister Prachanda expressed satisfaction with the growing relationship between Nepal and China, highlighting the recent exchange of high-level visits and the increased momentum in implementing bilateral agreements. He noted the operationalization of additional border checkpoints, which has facilitated the convenience of people in border areas, and he also acknowledged the expressed interest of Chinese investors in participating in Nepal's Investment Summit.
CIDCA Chair Zhaohui conveyed the interest of Chinese investors in various sectors in Nepal, including investment opportunities in the construction of power transmission lines and feasibility studies for projects like the Tokha-Chhahare tunnelway. The meeting was attended by Nepal's ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of China to Nepal, Chen Song, among others.
