KATHMANDU: Four Nepali athletes are set to compete in the ninth Wado Ryu Karate Do International Championship 2024, which will be held in Tokyo, Japan, starting on August 24. The team comprises Alen Shrestha, Susmita Waiba, Anil Uparkoti, and Aron Sherchan. They will represent Nepal in this two-day event.
The athletes received a formal farewell at an event in Khumaltar, where former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, expressed confidence in their abilities and wished them success.
Also present at the farewell were officials from the Nepal Wado Ryu Karate Do Association, including Shyam Sherpa, Vice-Chairperson of the Nepal Karate Federation.
The championship will showcase these Nepali competitors on an international stage, with high hopes for their performance.
