KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has been assigned to handle the cabinet portfolios previously held by eight CPN (UML) ministers who resigned from their positions by President Ramchandra Paudel. The President's Office issued a statement on Thursday, confirming that the President assigned the tasks based on the recommendation by PM Dahal.
The ministers who resigned are Raghuveer Mahaseth, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Jwala Kumari Saha, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Bhagawati Chaudhary, Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Rajendra Kumar Rai, and Minister for Defence Hari Prasad Uprety. The resignations were submitted in accordance with Article 77(2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
