KATHMANDU: The Office of the Attorney General has officially submitted its report for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS to President Ramchandra Paudel. Attorney General Ramesh Badal presented the results at a function on Sunday at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas.
During the event, President Paudel emphasized the need for a more effective and scientific approach to handling government cases. He underlined that investigation, prosecution, and legal defense must all be based on the facts in order to uphold a robust rule of law and an efficient criminal justice system.
President Paudel pointed out that obtaining justice for victims is more crucial than merely achieving more successful cases. He underlined that the Attorney General's duties extend beyond bringing offenders to justice and ensuring that victims receive just compensation.
He also emphasized how crucial it is to match the Attorney General's duties with the Nepalese Constitution, especially when it comes to defending the rights of victims. He asked the office to make sure that the fundamental rights clauses in the constitution are implemented effectively.
While addressing the needs and rights of victims, the President expressed his confidence that the Attorney General's Office will put constitutional values first. He made the argument that placing a strong emphasis on justice and reparation will boost public trust in the legal and political systems.
Attorney General Badal gave a brief summary during the occasion, detailing the office's activities and achievements over the fiscal year. The study's submission represented a major step forward in the evaluation and enhancement of Nepal's legislative framework.
