Due to the fact that two of the five members of the K-pop group 1VERSE are North Korean defectors, their unusual makeup will receive attention. Later in the week, the overall first part of the group's debut single album will be released that has five different international backgrounds not seen in the K-pop business.
Rapper Hyuk and singer Seok, both from North Korea, will be joined by Nathan from Arkansas, Kenny from Los Angeles and Aito from Chiba, Japan. Whilst other defectors, including Hak Seong of BE BOYS, also began a career in K-pop, 1VERSE is interesting for its
multitudinous component showcasing a much larger diverse cast, and providing a new and internationalized meaning to the genre.
The album released under Seoul's indie label Singing Beetle is called "The 1st Verse" and will feature the lead track called "Shattered." The lyrics to "Shattered" were co-written by Hyuk and Kenny.
"What surprised me was when we finally came together as 1VERSE, I saw our backgrounds schematically didn't matter, we could pursue this dream together," said Aito, the youngest member of 1VERSE.
Hyuk lived in North Hamgyong Province until he turned 12, defecting to South Korea in 2013. His astonishing route to homepage begun during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was working.
