The well-known Connecticut house and Occult Museum of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren has been purchased by comedian Matt Rife.Along with the property, he is now the legal guardian of their collection of haunted objects, including the well-known Annabelle doll.
Together with YouTuber Elton Castee, Rife bought the historic Monroe farmhouse, which has been connected to more than 3,000 paranormal cases that served as the basis for films such as "The Conjuring" and "The Amityville Horror."
Rife shared on social media that the Warrens helped make demonology and ghost hunting popular. He said the house is an important part of paranormal history and plans to open it for overnight stays and tours so visitors can learn about its haunted past.
The authentic Annabelle doll is, in a sense, a large Raggedy Ann doll that people have alleged is possessed by a demon. As for mythology, the Annabelle doll has been thought to move on its own, leave handwritten notes, and many have simply been scared because of whatever happened to them in proximity to the doll.
The purchase comes shortly after the release of the trailer for "The Conjuring: Last Rites," the final movie in the popular horror series based on the Warrens' cases. The Warrens are shown in the movie looking into a haunting in Pennsylvania.
Matt Rife’s new ownership connects him closely to the world of paranormal history and the famous haunted objects that have fascinated many for decades.
