KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Special Committee investigating the cooperative fraud case held a meeting at Singha Durbar on Sunday. Chairman Surya Thapa reported that the session focused on discussions with female operators from various cooperatives.
The committee has already interviewed 50 individuals linked to 29 problematic cooperatives and is in the process of drafting a report, which they aim to complete within a week. Among those questioned is Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and former managing director of Gorkha Media Network.
The committee has suggested that if fugitives GB Rai and 17 others are captured, the government might be able to recover depositors' funds from the affected cooperatives.
