KATHMANDU: Rajendra Bajgain, a lawmaker from the Nepali Congress (NC), has voiced suspicion about the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s (RSP) involvement in a recent incident at Tudikhel. During a House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, Bajgain alleged that the RSP was responsible for inciting the protests that targeted Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The incident occurred during the Gaura Festival program in Kathmandu, where both political leaders were present. A group of youths protested vigorously, chanting derogatory slogans against the leaders, and used obscene language despite efforts to manage the situation. The protests led to several arrests.

On the preceding day, RSP lawmaker Hari Dhakal had criticized the government's response to the protests, suggesting that detaining the youths was an unjustified measure taken under the guise of maintaining order.
