School bus targeted in petrol bomb attack in Bharatpur

KATHMANDU: According to the police, a bus en route to pick up school children was targeted in a petrol bomb attack this morning at the Dadrahani Bridge in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-20. Deputy Superintendent Bhesh Raj Rijal, spokesperson for the District Police Office Chitwan, reported that a group of six unidentified assailants launched the attack, hurling petrol bombs at the bus with registration number Bagamati Province 06001 Ka 0045.

The attackers compelled the driver and his assistant to evacuate the bus before carrying out the assault. Subsequently, the bus was engulfed in flames and completely destroyed as a result of the attack. DSP Rijal stated that an investigation has been initiated into the incident to determine the identity of the perpetrators and their motives.

The motive behind the attack remains unknown at this time, and authorities are working diligently to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. As the investigation progresses, further details regarding the attack and the individuals responsible are expected to emerge.
