KATHMANDU: All four individuals arrested in connection with the recent murder in Battisputali, Kathmandu, are reportedly minors, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari, spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu. The victim, identified as Shambhu Dhimal, aged 24 and hailing from Morang, was killed during a clash between two groups at Kumari Tole in Kathmandu metropolis-9.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the altercation leading to Dhimal's death began when he and one of the accused collided while walking at night, escalating into a physical confrontation. Subsequently, Dhimal was attacked with a knife by members of the opposing group. Despite being rushed to Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal, he succumbed to his injuries upon arrival. Another individual, identified as Manish Chaudhary, aged 23 and a friend of Dhimal, sustained injuries in the incident.
The identities of the four accused minors have not been disclosed. The case remains under investigation by authorities, who are working to ascertain further details surrounding the altercation and subsequent fatal attack.
