KATHMANDU: Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with an alleged robbery amounting to eight million rupees in Janakpurdham Sub metropolis-19. The suspects, identified as Janak Mahato and Shrawan Kapar, stand accused of committing the theft by purportedly threatening a cooperative official with a pistol.
Dhanusha Police chief Bhuwaneshwar Tiwari confirmed the arrests and disclosed that the authorities had recovered a sum of Rs 1 million and 453 thousand from the suspects. The incident occurred on May 6, when Birendra Kumar Mahato, an official from the Shubhashree Cooperative in Dhanusha Municipality-12 Raghunathpur, was reportedly robbed by unidentified perpetrators.
The police have launched an investigation into the case to ascertain further details surrounding the alleged robbery and to identify any additional individuals involved in the incident.
