Singer Rabi Oad, accused of marital rape, has been granted bail of Rs 500,000 by the Kanchanpur District Court. He was released on Thursday evening following the court's decision.
Oad voluntarily surrendered himself at the Area Police Office in Jhalari after the accusation was made against him. Subsequently, the police detained him for five days for further investigation into the case.
Rabi Oad rose to fame as a Nepalese singer, actor, and dancer, notably winning the second season of the TV series Nepal Idol.
The complaint against him was filed by his wife on April 2 at the Area Police Office in Jhalari, according to Inspector Pushkar Pant, spokesperson for the District Police Office in Kanchanpur.
