KATHMANDU: Sandeep Lamichhane, a prominent figure in cricket, has declared himself a target of a deliberate conspiracy and has vowed to reveal the identities of those allegedly involved. His assertion comes in the aftermath of the announcement of Nepal’s Cricket Team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Lamichhane took to his social media platforms to vehemently assert his innocence and condemn the purported schemes against him.
The backdrop to Lamichhane’s declaration is the recent ruling by the Kathmandu District Court, which found him guilty in a rape case. The court handed down an eight-year sentence along with a fine of Rs 300,000 and compensation of two lakh rupees. However, Lamichhane has lodged an appeal against this verdict at the High Court, signaling his determination to challenge the ruling.
Lamichhane's claim of being targeted by a conspiracy introduces a new layer to the ongoing legal proceedings. His pledge to disclose the identities of those allegedly involved suggests that the case may take unexpected turns as it progresses through the legal system.
