KATHMANDU: As President Ramchandra Paudel of Nepal met with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, he sought assistance in securing the release of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who went missing during the Hamas attack in Israel. The request was made during a bilateral meeting at Rastrapati Bhawan Sheetal Niwas. Emir Al Thani arrived in Nepal for a two-day state visit upon President Paudel's invitation.
During their meeting, President Paudel highlighted the significance of Bipin Joshi's release and urged Emir Al Thani to take action on the matter. The President emphasized the concern surrounding Bipin's disappearance and requested the Emir's assistance in securing his release. Kiran Pokharel, the President's Press Advisor, provided insights into the meeting's discussions.
In response to President Paudel's request, Emir Al Thani mentioned previous initiatives taken on the matter and assured further action to address Bipin Joshi's situation. The Emir acknowledged the importance of the issue and pledged to take additional steps to assist in securing Bipin's release. Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student studying in Israel, has remained missing since the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
