KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has made an announcement regarding a reduction in petroleum prices, effective immediately. Following a meeting of the NOC Board of Directors, it was unanimously agreed upon to decrease the price of petrol by Rs 7 per liter, while diesel and kerosene will be reduced by Rs 5 per liter.
As per the revised rates, the retail price of petrol in the first cluster, which includes Charlali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj, will be Rs 168.5 per liter. In the second cluster encompassing Surkhet and Dang, the price will be Rs 170 per liter, while consumers in the third cluster, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depots, will witness a price of Rs 171 per liter.
NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur highlighted that the decision to adjust prices was made in response to the updated price list provided by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), which serves as Nepal’s supplier of petroleum products. This move is expected to provide relief to consumers amid fluctuations in global oil prices.
