KMC awards Rs 100,000 to Women's Volleyball Team for CAVA League runner-up finish

KATHMANDU: After the Nepal Women's Volleyball Team placed second in the CAVA National Women's Volleyball League, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) awarded the team financial prizes. In addition to winning Rs 50,000 for the coach, deputy coach, team manager, and therapist, the team, which was beaten by India in the finals in Kathmandu, received Rs 100,000 for each participant.


Captain Aruna Shahi, Saraswoti Chaudhary, Sumitra Regmi, Aarati Subedi, Punam Chand, Usha Bhandari, Kabita Bhatta, Kamana Bista, Sangam Mahatto, Niruta Thagunna, Shantikala Tamang, Safiya Pun, Pragati Nath, and Salina Shrestha were the players who earned Rs 100,000. The coach, assistant coach, team manager, and therapist received Rs 50,000 each.


The facilitation event was attended by Mayor Balen Shah, who praised the team's exceptional performance and efforts throughout the league.
