PM KP Oli vows to uphold his zero tolerance for corruption statement

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized his government’s commitment to fighting corruption and refraining from engaging in bribery during the inauguration of the District Police Complex in Kathmandu. He asserted that his administration will “consume bread, not bribes,” underscoring a pledge to avoid unjust prosecution and ensuring officials operate with integrity.


Oli reassured that his government will not interfere with law enforcement or shield criminals from arrest, declaring that misuse of state power to target innocent individuals is unacceptable. He emphasized the significance of maintaining the rule of law and helping the police carry out their missions in an efficient manner.


He also highlighted the need for innovation in policing, stating that the traditional methods are no longer adequate. PM Oli called for improved resource allocation and thorough scrutiny of any failures in the police force to ensure effective law enforcement.
