KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a forecast predicting hot air prevailing in the Terai districts for the next three days. In their bulletin released on Monday, the department indicated that the Terai region would experience hot weather conditions starting from Monday. Moreover, they highlighted that temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius have been recorded in certain areas of the Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces over the past few days.
The prevalence of hot air and heat waves can lead to various health issues such as fatigue, weakness, excessive thirst, headaches, leg cramps, dizziness, fainting, muscle pain, and vomiting. To mitigate the risk of these symptoms during the summer season, individuals are advised to stay indoors and seek shelter in cool environments whenever possible. Additionally, wearing light cotton clothing, covering the head when going outside, using hats for sun protection, and staying hydrated by regularly consuming water and soft drinks are recommended preventive measures. The department also emphasized the importance of maintaining regular communication with healthcare professionals in case of any health concerns arising from the extreme weather conditions.
