KATHMANDU: In Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-4 in Naura, a Bailey bridge has been erected over the Myagdi River to provide better access for people and visitors going to the Dhaulagiri mountain and hiking routes. The Myagdi Rivulet and Upper Myagdi Rivulet hydroelectric projects built the 47-meter-long bridge, greatly improving transit for locals and project personnel.
Chair of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality, Prem Prasad Pun, highlighted that the bridge has established crucial transport access to the construction sites of the 65-MW Myagdi Rivulet and 37-MW Upper Myagdi Rivulet hydropower projects. It also enhances connectivity for remote communities including Naura, Bagar, Simkos, Khiwang, and Khamla.
The Myagdi Rivulet Hydropower Project plans to expand the road to Bagargaun after the rainy season. In addition to the Bailey Bridge, the Myagdi Rivulet, Upper Myagdi Rivulet, and Upper Myagdi Rivulet-1 hydropower projects have jointly constructed a three-kilometer road linking Kekinki to Khiwang.
The Dadakhet substation and transmission lines are among the infrastructure projects that the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is working to advance in the area. In Myagdi and its tributaries, 13 hydroelectric projects with a total capacity of 238.23 MW are now under construction, adding to the region's expanding energy and transportation infrastructure.
