KATHMANDU: The Federal Parliament of Nepal is scheduled to meet in the House of Representatives (HoR) at 1:00 PM today. Speaker Devraj Ghimire will read a letter regarding the Office of the President's vetting of a recently received bill at the meeting. Ministers in charge of labor, employment and social security, urban development, and water supply will also respond to inquiries on their respective ministries.
Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Investigation Special Committee on cooperative savings fund misappropriation, will propose an extension of the committee's term. Similarly, Amar Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee, will present reports on the 'Nepal University Bill, 2081' and the 'Public Service Broadcasting Bill, 2081,' both forwarded from the National Assembly.
Furthermore, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel will propose that the 'Securities (First Amendment) Bill, 2081' and the 'Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Bill, 2081' be referred to the appropriate committee for quarterly discussion.
