KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a new installment payment plan for unpaid street light dues, aiming to resolve longstanding fee arrears. Under this initiative, local governments can now opt for installment payments lasting up to 60 months to settle outstanding electricity tariffs. The NEA has specified that interested local authorities must apply for this option within 45 days of the notice and are instructed to coordinate directly with their respective distribution centers to formalize the installment arrangement.
This move by the NEA is intended to facilitate easier settlement of dues accumulated from street lighting, providing local governments with a structured approach to manage and clear their outstanding payments over an extended period.
