Tilburg is alive with color this weekend as thousands of redheads from around the world gather for the annual Redhead Days festival.
The 2025 edition features music, food trucks, and workshops designed for redheads, including makeup tutorials and skin cancer awareness. Organizers expect visitors from about 80 countries over the three-day event.
Elounda Bakker, a 15-year festival attendee, said she enjoys meeting other redheads and feeling part of a community.
Magician Daniel Hank traveled six hours from Germany to attend. Once teased for his red hair, he now proudly embraces it.
The festival is free for all, except for the Sunday group photo, which is reserved for natural redheads.
The event started over 20 years ago when Dutch artist Bart Rouwenhorst invited red-haired models for a photo project. It has since grown into the large festival celebrated today.
