KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health in Bagmati Province has reported that the number of individuals infected with dengue fever has risen to 11,475 across the 13 districts of the province, with three new cases added in the past 24 hours. Among these districts, Dhading has recorded the highest number of dengue cases in the current fiscal year.
According to the ministry's data, Dhading has reported the highest number of cases, totaling 3,507, while Rasuwa has seen the fewest cases. Other districts with notable dengue incidences include Kathmandu with 3,000 cases, Chitwan with 1,737 cases, Lalitpur with 1,438 cases, Makawanpur with 888 cases, Bhaktapur with 494 cases, and Kavrepalanchowk with 167 cases. Additionally, Nuwakot reported 81 cases, Dolakha 79, Ramechhap 27, Sindhupalchowk 32, and Sindhuli 23.
Dr. Rabin Bhusal, spokesperson for the health ministry, emphasized the importance of taking precautions against mosquito bites. The ministry has advised individuals to use mosquito nets, liquid mosquito repellents, and regularly clean water tanks and coolers. Additionally, they recommend avoiding storing water around the house, using full shelves, and promptly seeking medical attention if symptoms of dengue fever are observed.
