KATHMANDU: Vitamin' A' capsules and deworming tablets are being administered to children under five as part of a nationwide campaign. The event will be held on October 18 and 19 for two days.
This program targets children at 753 local levels around the nation, according to Lila Bikram Thapa, Chief of the Nutrition Section, Family Welfare Division. To apply for the program, women health volunteers have been enlisted in ward services, seminaries, and other accessible spots.
Vitamin' A' capsules and deworming capsules are given to children ranging from six months to five years, annually as part of Nepal's National Immunization Program. The health campaign is seen to be key for improving children's general development and health.
According to Thapa, this time’s program aims to give Vitamin ‘A’ capsules to around 2.1 million children from six months to under five years. Additionally, 1.8 to 1.9 million children aged one to under five will be administered deworming tablets.
The government's commitment to making sure this action is successful was reiterated by Thapa, who underscored the significance of both nutrition and vaccination for children's overall development.
In order to guarantee that their children gain the needed vitamins and deworming drugs, the Ministry of Health and Population has advised parents to visit ward services, original health posts, or health volunteers.
The program supports ongoing efforts to improve child health and reduce malnutrition, which will benefit illness prevention and child development in the long run.
