KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced temporary power interruptions in several parts of Kathmandu as part of the ongoing process of undergrounding electrical wires. The scheduled power outages will occur from 11 AM to 3 PM and are expected to last until Friday. Areas receiving services from the Kuleshwar, Kirtipur, and Jorpati distribution centers will experience disruptions.
The NEA has initiated the undergrounding of electrical distribution lines, leading to the temporary interruptions in power supply beginning on Sunday. These interruptions are part of a planned process to improve the reliability and safety of the electrical infrastructure in Kathmandu. Yesterday, there was a power cut from Force Bus Park to Tej Binayak Chowk under the Gothatar Feeder, which is served by the Jorpati Distribution Centre.
Throughout the week, different areas under the Kuleshwar, Kirtipur, and Jorpati distribution centers will experience power cuts on designated days. These disruptions will affect specific zones within Kathmandu, with the aim of completing the undergrounding process efficiently and minimizing inconvenience to residents.
