Crane accident in Gorkha claims life of 19-year-old worker

KATHMANDU: A 19-year-old worker lost his life in a terrible crane accident in Gorkha. Crushed by the crane was Prince Ansari, a resident of Jeetpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City-19 in Bara, according to Dhurba Prasad Sharma, a Police Inspector at the District Police Office.


The incident occurred on Sunday at the Abinash Arbaeakar Private Limited Hatchery, which is still under construction and is situated in Hulche, Gorkha Municipality-10, at approximately 8 PM. According to reports, the fatality occurred when the crane abruptly dropped into the river, some 20 meters below the surface.


After the accident, the deceased's body was recovered and sent to the District Hospital Gorkha so that a postmortem could be performed. To learn more about the occurrence, a team from the District Police Office carried out an initial investigation.


The police have taken the crane operator, who has been identified as 24-year-old Azhar Ansari from Birgunj Metropolitan City-30 in Bara, into custody in order to continue questioning him. 


The authorities are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the cause of the incident and evaluate any possible negligence or safety breaches that may have contributed to this unfortunate event.
