On July 11, the Consulate General of Nepal organized an interaction and networking program intending to promote Nepal as a travel destination for American tourists. The Consulate Centre collaborated with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) New York Chapter to achieve this. Consul General Dadhiram Bhandari described the increasing numbers of American tourists visiting Nepal and noted that marketing Nepal's natural and cultural heritage supports upscale travelers.

"Tourism is one of the most important economic sectors for Nepal," said Ambassador Lok Bahadur Thapa, Nepal's Permanent Representative to the UN, and we need to promote Nepal more comprehensively and through collaborations.

Travel writer and producer Erin Levi, whose article on Bardia's Burhan Wilderness Camp appears in TIME's World's Greatest Places of 2024, called Nepal a safe place to visit, regardless of age or gender. Nishchal Banskota from Nepal Tea Collective explained his "Immersive Tea Tourism" project to facilitate bringing American visitors to the tea estates of eastern Nepal.

Elizabeth Chin, Executive Director of PATA's New York Chapter, highlighted the significance of partnership and collaboration to raise Nepal's awareness among tourists from the United States and implored attendees to think of Nepal as a prime travel location. The Consulate also put on a visual display through NTB promotional materials. Consul General Bhandari stated that American tourists contribute to Nepal's tourism sector significantly as they spend more and stay longer.

There were more than fifty attendees from tourism, hospitality, Nepali entrepreneurs, and media, including members of the PATA Chapter and the Nepali Consulate in New York. The guests were also treated to Nepali food and local gift items at the conclusion of the program.
