KATHMANDU: A new fast-charging station for electric vehicles has been opened at Kawasoti-11, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East) to give a meaningful service to the commuters moving on this 114-kilometer stretch of the Narayangadh-Butwal road. It is expected to help fasten their movements on this crowded road.
Up to five cars, both small and large, can be charged at once at the station, which was built with an expenditure of Rs 10 million. In order to guarantee a steady supply of electricity, local businessman Bishnu Adhikari installed the charging station on five kattha of land with help from the Nepal Electricity Authority.
Approximately fifty vehicles can be charged daily at the station, which is open 24/7. Adhikari did point out that operational difficulties have been brought on by delays in the current road extension between Narayangadh and Butwal. The facility intends to add ten more charging nozzles to expand its capacity after the road widening project is finished.
Adhikari plans to set up a refreshment center at the location to offer more conveniences for EV drivers, making it more comfortable for passengers while their cars charge.
