KATHMANDU: Nepal will start exporting energy to Bangladesh this year, according to Kulman Ghising, Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). This development indicates that Nepal's output and distribution of power have increased during the past eight years, marking a significant turning point for the energy sector in the nation. While its profits exceeded Rs 100 billion during this period, Nepal invested over Rs 100 billion in the industry.
Ghising stated that electricity will be exported to Bangladesh via India, provided that the country's ongoing situation is resolved. Once things have stabilized, a formal power exchange deal will be finalized. This program demonstrates the expanding global significance of Nepal's energy industry.
