KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office has launched a 24-hour hotline, 1180, to manage disaster risks and epidemic concerns, including dengue and cholera. Previously available only during office hours, this service is now accessible around the clock. Citizens experiencing symptoms of dengue or needing advice can call this number for assistance.
The hotline is part of a collaborative effort involving the Department of Health Services and City Police to address issues such as flooding and waterborne diseases exacerbated by recent heavy rainfall. The local government has initiated this free service to provide counseling and educate the public about dengue and cholera, given the increased risk of water-borne infections due to ongoing rains.
