Former FNJ vice president Karna Dev Bhatta passes away at 76

KATHMANDU: Karna Dev Bhatta, a prominent figure in Nepali journalism and former vice president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), passed away at the age of 76. He had been battling diabetes and high blood pressure for an extended period before his demise at his residence in Bhimdatta Municipality-6 on Sunday night.


Apart from his role at FNJ, Bhatta also served as a board member of the RSS and was the editor of the Farwest Times daily, based in Kanchanpur. His leadership in editing and organizational duties within the journalistic community were among his many noteworthy achievements in Nepali journalism.


He is survived by his spouse, two sons, and a daughter. The journalist Rudraraj Paneru has announced that his final rites will take place on Tuesday.
