KATHMANDU: Police confirmed another death on Saturday night, bringing the total number of fatalities from the gas explosion at the Shandar Mo: Mo shop in Kamalpokhari to four. While undergoing treatment, the most recent victim, Tshering Lama, 25, of Kavre, who had been residing in Kamalpokhari, passed away from his wounds.
The explosion had earlier killed three additional people. Pradeep Tamang, 22, of Udayapur, Rabin Rai, 18, of Makwanpur, and Bhim Bahadur Ghale Magar, 25, of Udayapur were identified as the three individuals. After the incident, authorities first reported several injuries.
The explosion seriously injured fourteen individuals on the 6th of February. Many of the victims are suffering great burns and trauma that require major medical attention.
Many of the injured persons are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as investigations are underway into the cause of the explosion.
