KATHMANDU: A broken pipeline in Babarmahal that ruptured during the installation of subterranean cables is now being repaired by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). A significant water leak happened on Wednesday while horizontal drilling was being done to install electrical connections.
A number of government offices, including the Special Court, were impacted by the floods caused by the pipeline burst. Authorities acted quickly to manage the issue after the significant water leak interrupted regular operations.
Repairs started that same evening, according to Ashok Kumar Paudel, chief executive officer of Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL). He clarified that officials had to cut off the water supply before beginning repairs because water gushed into the neighborhood after the pipe ruptured.
Paudel promised that work is being done to finish the repairs as quickly as possible so that water distribution may start up again. In order to reduce the disruption annoyance, authorities are working to find a speedy solution.
The urgency of the repairs is increased by the challenges the water has caused for local offices and citizens. Authorities are making every effort to contain the situation and restore the regular water supply.
