KATHMANDU: The death toll from the landslide in Doramba Shailung Rural Municipality-3, Ramechhap District, has risen to eight. The landslide, triggered by heavy rain, occurred on August 25 and swept away four houses, initially leaving 11 people missing.
As of now, eight bodies have been recovered, with six found on the day of the landslide and two additional bodies discovered recently. The search continues for the remaining two missing individuals, Kale Pahari (55) and Jhyaipuri Pahari (50), who were also residents of the affected area.
Chandika Shrestha (30), her son Ayush Shrestha, age 18 months, Urmila Pahari (57), Sandip Pahari (30), Santosh Pahari, and Bigyan Pahari (14), are among the deceased. Following post-mortem exams, their bodies were given to their relatives on Sunday.
