KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Devraj Ghimire, held discussions with the major ruling parties, the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML), regarding two key bills: the Constitutional Council Bill and the Order of Precedence Bill, which had been passed by the National Assembly and were now awaiting action in the HoR. To get their opinions on these unfinished bills, the Speaker asked party whips for their opinions.

Speaker Ghimire discussed the matter at his Singh Durbar office with Congress Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire and UML Chief Whip Mahesh Kumar Bartaula. Following internal discussions by each party, the Speaker asked for their opinions on the bills. The meeting ended with a decision to meet again on Monday for additional discussion, according to Congress Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire.

All of the bills that are presently being considered in Parliament, including those that are pending passage in the House of Representatives, would be advanced during the next winter session, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula stressed. He affirmed that once Parliament meets again, measures will be made to guarantee the legislation's smooth progress.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is expected to speak on the first day of the winter session of Parliament, which is slated to start on January 31. The results of a number of significant legislative initiatives are anticipated to be significantly impacted by this session.

In order to get ready for the winter session, Speaker Ghimire has been working harder. His growing participation points to a greater emphasis on making sure that the laws that are still pending in this legislative session receive the attention they need to proceed.

As the ruling parties attempt to resolve outstanding legislative issues and pass important laws that may have an effect on Nepal's political climate in the months ahead, the next session is probably going to be important.
