KATHMANDU: The newly appointed Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Ek Narayan Aryal, received congratulations from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. In his social media posts, Oli counseled Aryal to concentrate on developing development initiatives, keeping up strong governance, expediting public service operations, and offering effective service delivery.
Oli stressed the need for processes to be put in place to promptly handle and resolve concerns and suggested that each official be held responsible for the work done by their department. Creating social media profiles for officials to share their work with the public and allowing public hearings were two other recommendations he made.
Highlighting the distinction between government policy leadership and the administrative staff's role, Oli noted that civil administration serves as the permanent government, while elected governments are periodic. He stressed the need for a system to address delays in public services and development projects.
Approximately 400,000 national service members, including as civil servants, teachers, and security guards, play a critical role in maintaining public contentment and advancing the country, as Oli acknowledged in his closing remarks. He hoped they would succeed in providing efficient public service.
