KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is set to present a proposal seeking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives (HoR) on July 12, as confirmed by sources within the PM’s Secretariat. This move comes after the CPN-UML withdrew its support from the government on July 3, resulting in the resignation of eight UML ministers, whose resignations have been accepted.
Following the withdrawal of support, the UML has officially informed the Federal Parliament Secretariat of its transition to an opposition role within parliament. In response to the political shifts, on July 1, the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML agreed to collaborate on key issues, including governance and constitutional amendments, forming a new political alliance.
Despite being in a minority position, PM Dahal has expressed his determination to face parliament and seek a vote of confidence instead of resigning from his post. This upcoming session on July 12 will be crucial in determining the government's stability and future direction amidst evolving political dynamics in Nepal.
