KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba is expected to visit New Delhi next week, mostly for a medical examination. Her recent operation for hyperparathyroidism, which she had in March 2024 at Max Hospital in New Delhi, had caused this trip to be postponed.
During this visit, which is mainly focused on health rather than diplomatic engagements, Dr. Rana is expected to have a limited schedule. She will meet with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, who extended the invitation in response to her planned health visit.
The exact date of Dr. Rana's departure has not been confirmed, but it is anticipated to be on Sunday. Despite the visit's health-centric nature, the meeting with Jaishankar is set to take place as part of the formal invitation from the Indian side.
