Police arrest man with natural Musk in Humla

KATHMANDU: The District Police Office in Humla has apprehended Kanjok Tamang for possession of natural musk in Simikot. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabinkhar Khanal confirmed that Tamang was arrested following a specific tip-off on Tuesday evening. A subsequent search of Tamang’s residence yielded 18 pieces of natural musk.


Tamang confessed to acquiring the musk from New Delhi, India, where he had recently traveled from. He claimed to have paid Rs 700,000 for the musk in Delhi with plans to sell it for between Rs 40,000 and Rs 45,000 per gram in Taklakot, China.


Police confiscated several items from Tamang, a resident of Namkha Rural Municipality-2, Kermi, including two cell phones, purses, ATM cards, a passport, a citizenship document, and scales.
