6 arrested in Jhapa for involvement in multiple house robberies

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested six people accused of being involved in repeated home robberies in Jhapa. They were taken into custody on Tuesday for allegedly committing burglary at Durga Devi Shrestha and Uma Shrestha's homes in Arjundhara Municipality-11, Jhapa. The police have identified them as Susman Thapa (22 years old), Krishna Thapa (27 years old), Suresh Kumar Das (40 years old) from Mechinagar Municipality, Jhapa, Arjun Bishowkarma (43 years old), Nitesh Baraili (43 years old) from Kamal Rural Municipality-3, Jhapa, and Sunil Rajbanshi (51 years old) from Arjundhara Municipality, Jhapa.


Additionally, the group has been connected to an earlier June 4 burglary at Ganga Kafle's home in Naya Namuna Tole, Birtamod Municipality-5 by authorities. The arrests were part of continuing initiatives to stop these kinds of crimes in the area.


Police investigations and legal proceedings are currently underway to address the violations that have been linked to these individuals. This ensures that the appropriate procedures are carried out in accordance with the law.
