Bikaji Foods International, an Indian snack company of repute, has announced a new tie-up with Nepal's Chaudhary Group. Both companies shall set up a joint venture to manufacture and market Bikaji's consumer products in Nepal.
The two companies will own the joint venture equally, with both companies owning 50% each. They have plans to set up a modern plant in Nepal for the manufacture of a variety of snacks such as bhujia, namkeen, papad, sweets, and other packaged items.
According to Deepak Agarwal, the Managing Director of Bikaji Foods, the tie-up is a big leap in the globalization of the company. He feels that Nepal is an important market and expects to see the company provide high-quality, affordable snacks to Nepali consumers, with the assistance of CG’s strong presence in the local market.
According to Varun Chaudhary, Director of CG Foods Nepal, the collaborative effort will focus on creating jobs and improving supply chains in Nepal. He added that the intention of the tie-up is to make Indian snacks a part of every day in Nepal, thereby also taking forward the growth of the food industry in the country.
