Two tragic incidents claimed the lives of four teenagers in separate parts of Dang district on Monday.
Two Tulsipur youths perished in the first event while swimming in the Babai River close to Purandhara Chhahara, which is situated in Babai Rural Municipality-4. The victims have been named as Kushal Budhamagar, 16, and Bidhan KC, 17, both of whom live in Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-2.
According to Dev KC, the Police Chief at Hapure Area Police Office, the boys had gone swimming with a group of friends when the tragedy occurred. Their bodies were later recovered and taken to Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur for post-mortem examination.
On the same day, two young people died in a motorcycle accident on the Rampur–Ghorahi road segment, close to the Sisnekhola bridge. The victims were identified as Gadhwa Rural Municipality-8 residents Rohit BK, age 18, and Nishan BK, age 16.
District Police Office spokesperson Chakra Bahadur Shah stated that the motorcycle, bearing registration number Ra 7 Pa 3270, was heading from Rampur toward Ghorahi when it lost control and crashed at around 7:00 PM in Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-4.
Both victims were rushed to the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences in Ghorahi but succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Their bodies are currently being kept at the hospital for further procedures, police confirmed.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution near water bodies and while driving, particularly during the monsoon season when risks are heightened.
