KATHMANDU: On Friday morning, a bus traveling from Kakarbhitta to Nepalgunj met with an accident at Manahari Rural Municipality-9 in Makwanpur district along the East-West Highway, injuring at least 20 passengers. Police reports indicate that 11 of the injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at a local pharmacy, while nine others have been transferred to Chitwan for further medical attention.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxmi Bhandari, serving as the spokesperson for the Makwanpur District Police Office, confirmed that the accident occurred when the bus lost control and fell into a ditch. Fortunately, the condition of the injured individuals is reported to be stable. Authorities are likely conducting investigations to ascertain the cause of the accident and ensure appropriate measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
