KATHMANDU: A substantial amount of counterfeit money, including 25 fake Rs 1,000 notes and 341 fake Rs 500 notes, have been found by the Gaushala, Kathmandu, police. Bodhchandra Namchung, Rajendra Bhattarai of Ilam, and Arajul Haq of Jhapa were apprehended as a result of the operation; they were discovered to be in possession of drugs as well as counterfeit notes.
The inquiry is underway, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Nabraj Adhikari, the spokeswoman for the Kathmandu police department. The arrests demonstrate the growing prevalence of counterfeit money in the Terai region and Kathmandu, where it is utilized in a variety of establishments, including supermarkets, restaurants, and vegetable shops.
An increasing number of arrests and seizures have occurred in the area as a result of law enforcement's growing concern over the increased incidence of counterfeit cash transactions. In an endeavor to stop the dissemination of phony notes and apprehend individuals responsible, the police are not stopping.
